I suggested that driver because after struggling for about 4 months with random wifi drops I had tried all the recommended fixes and that driver's  release notes said it was to fix wifi disconnects -- it worked for me, sorry it didn't for you.

I had no luck with these items but you could try resetting the winsock catalog and the tcp/ip stack. You need to open a cmd prompt and run these as administrator.

 

netsh winsock reset

netsh int ip reset

then restart the laptop.

 

I would consider changing the 5GHz channel in your router on the assumption that there is interference from other wifi networks. The recommended non-overlapping channels are 36, 40,44, 48 but I've used 153 and there are others. You need to use a wifi analyzer to actually see the channel use, but in a home setting it may not be worth it.

 

You might consider taking your laptop to another location like a public library to see it the connection problem still exists. It is another data point.

 

You have probably seen suggestions to turn off power savings for the adapter via the Power Management tab in Device Manager > Properties; but it does not exist in Windows 11 running Modern Standy (SO). But there is for the Universal Serial Bus Controller. So if you want to try the usb wifi adapted again you can try:

 

Device Manager > expand Universal Serial Bus Controller. For each USB Root Hub entry select Properties > Power Management tab. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Thanks for suggesting the driver. This has greatly improved the connection, and I experience many fewer disconnections. I'm going to follow the other recommendations about resetting the Winsock catalog and power savings.
I had already tried connecting outside the home using a different Wi-Fi network, but the problem persisted.

I'm glad you have seen some improvement but you should not be seeing any wifi disconnects as long as you are within range of the Access Point. Here are a few other thoughts, mostly generic which you may have already addressed.

1. Try setting the Power Mode to Best Performance. Settings > System > Power & battery. Set for both "Plugged in" and Battery.

2. If your running a VPN try turning it off temporarily. There is recent Posting from a person who told me that his wifi disconnect problem "went away" after he removed Norton anti-virus software and installed Bitdefender. Makes no sense to me but thought I'd mention it.

3. Environment -- mostly generic stuff. Router location, metal obstructions between router and laptop. And routerignal strength antenna positioning (ref: Netgear). When antennas are vertical the radio beam projects horizontally (best for single level homes). When antennas are horizontal the radio beam projects vertically. I suppose you would use a mixture for a multilevel home.

4. Signal strength. It could help to know actual signal strength which is measured in dBm (decibel milliwatt). The desired range is -50dBm (excellent) to -67dBm. -70dBm is ok but once you get to -80dBm it is not reliable. I use the free version WIFI Analyzer app by Matt Hafner available in the Microsoft Store. It displays signal strength, neighboring networks and has a graph that shows channel usage so you can see if there might be a possible channel interference.

But if you don't want to bother with that much detail you can get a snapshot in time of signal strength.

Open a cmd prompt and run:

> netsh wlan show interfaces

look for "Rssi"     meaning Received Signal Strength Indicator. It correlates very well with dBm. So a value of -58 can be considered to be -58dBm.
