HP Recommended

Is there a still the HP thing with whitelisting the wifi adapters? The current realtek 8852 (which is the only one listed in whitepaper for this model) is nothing but a piece of crap that keeps randomly disconnecting no matter what configuration of it and router is. Other devices on the router works fine, so I just want to replace it for something more reliable.

There is a problem with installing Intel cards in AMD notebooks.

 

Some models work and some don't.

 

HP installed an Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6 adapter in my HP notebook that has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor and that would be the only one I could recommend you experimenting with if you want to try a different card.

 

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP Part # L35282-005

 

Try updating the Realtek WIFI driver to the latest version that just came out a couple of weeks ago...
