checking in device mgr. i have

Bluetooth device (RFComm protocol TDI

Broadcomm 20702 Bluetooth 4.0 adapter

GBSB02BT20 (this is my BT soundbar i think)

GBSB02BT20 AVRCP transport
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

Microsoft Bluetooth LE enumerator

Doing a google, the 62205 didnt come with LE function, however Device ID shows its a Broadcom 20702 so i dont think thhe intel card BT is listed as a Visible device. it might pop up once the integrated BT card is disconnected though

Agree just pulling the JST off the motherboard to test and reboot into deivce mgr would verify what ever BT elements left are the "new" card and not the older integrated parts.

Will try that  cable pull and respond back

If the Intel BT doesn't show up, you will have to mask those 2 pins on the card, and if that doesn't work, most likely the slot is not wired for BT.

Thanks will try the pins taping if unplugging the onboard BT stack doesnt bear results.

Which pins?  i couldnt find the YT link you posted earlier

Pins 51 & 20.

The video link is in my 1st reply on page 1 of this discussion.

Just as an update,  Disconnecting the JST Broadcom module (onboard) didnt result in any visible detection of the intel BT chipset in either device mgr or HWinfo.

will try Pin-Taping but assume the BT benefit on the card is due to either no pins on the MPcie or something like IRQ. not the end of the world, but a shame the Wifi Upgrade didnt allow the BT to work.

Although thinking about this the wrong way, is the Broadcom JST module used in a newer Zbook or similar the same pinout so this HP part number may have a revised version with same pinout. maybe concentrating on the HMW unit as to why the BT isnt seen is the wrong way of looking at the problem.  Worst case a USB BT6 unit could be used but thats no fun in experimenting........

I have a feeling the slot isn't wired for BT.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what other standalone internal BT modules could work in your notebook.

post Pin taping, No extra BT elements were seen in device manager just the broadcom internal unit. So my deduction is whilst 7260HMW is a worthwhile Wifi upgrade, the MPcie port/slot is not wired for BT capability.  I will continue to try the AX210 and BE200 units to see just how far we can push the MPCie port in terms of wifi compatibility and respond back in the forum.

Doing further digging on BT daugherboard on Zbook/probook all are JST with more pins than elitebook's port so not viable. USB is a sensible upgrade, or add an internal USB feed to run a "hidden" BT unit.
