I have been using a USB c-port adapter to connect to a wired network. It has suddenly stoppped working on both C-ports. The adapter can function without using the c-port as it can plug in to a regular USB port. It doesn't work using the regular USB port.
The adapter connection described above works on other computers using the C adapter. The problem seems to be only with my HP.

What is it ? USB-C port and normal USB port have two different shapes and sizes. I have to use the following adapter because my machine does not have wired NIC at the end I have two more USB 3.0 ports

Thank you for your response. The adapter I am using has 3 USB inpjuts and an ethernet input. The output cable is a regular USB connector. It also included a separate USB to C adapter permitting a choice of outputs, regular USB or C.
