HP ENVY 17
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My built in WIFI adapter only detect 2.4GHz wifi.

I want my HP Envy 17 to detect my 5Ghz Wifi.

If I'll buy USB Wi-Fi adapter like TP Link Archer T2U nano and install the new drivers.

Is it possible that my HP Envy 17 can now detect my 5G wifi?

Hi:

Yes, you should be able to upgrade to this model dual band AC wifi card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You should be able to find this card on eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
