Hi all,

I got an HP Elitebook 2560p which I would like to upgrade the wifi card and bluetooth module. The card at the moment is a  Intel R Advanced-N 6205. This laptop got another separate module for the Bluetooth 2.0.

I would like to remove the old card and install another one  that combine both functions in one card like the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 WLAN + Bluetooth  and I would live current  bluetooth module socket

empty. Does any one know which cards are supported or whitelisted in this laptop?

At the moment the laptop is running with the bios  v.50 which I believe is form 2011 or 2014. The latest one is Version V.66 I believe .

I don't want upgrade the bios before make sure which bios got more or less restrictions regarding WiFI card upgrade.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Hi:

Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which blocks the installation of any Wi-Fi adapter other than those listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual from working.

Therefore, a card such as the Intel 7260AC will not work.

None of the cards listed in the service manual come with Bluetooth.

2560p's came with an optional separate Bluetooth module also listed in chapter 3.
