Hello,
My laptop cannot detect WI-FI again today though sometimes it works randomly.
Sometimes the connecting issue is due to outside monitor connected to this laptop, sometimes the reason is unknown as today.
I did the following:
1. Ran Network Troubleshooter
You're connected using a virtual network adapter that we can't test.
2. Ran Network commands -
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release :
The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation.
3. Checked the Network adapters under device manager :
I found the following parts missing compared with my another HP envy 360 laptop :
"Bluetooth Device ( Personal Area Network)
Intel(r) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
TAP-Windows Adapter V9
I am wondering how to fix this problem.
Thank you.

April, 10, 2024 update
The WIFI has been running well with plugged power line after following one of the post found online:
Check the adapter power settings.
1. Press "Windows + X" and select "Device Manager";
2. Expand "Network adapters";
3. Right-click on the adapter and select "Properties";
4. Go to the "Power Management" tab
5. Uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power";
6. Click Ok.

The spec for your 549V6AV system shows that you have one of the two following wifi cards
|
Either there is a problem with the WiFI card or the band you are connected with is weak or congested. Pick the 5ghz band if possible else try the others. Ensure that the band you are using has the least congestion
How to select the 2.4 or the 5ghz band (your card may be different)
Be sure to find the channel that has the least amount of noise-----
Please ensure that your modem has different SSIDs for each band
I have an Arris modem, yours may be different. This tutorial is helpful. The username might be admin and the password should be printed somewhere on the modem. If not, then use that tutorial. Use a different name for the 2.4 and the 5ghz bands. To keep it simple, use the same password and use only numeric digits such as someone's phone number. When in the router, run the app that finds the channel with the least amount of noise for both bands.
Let me know if a problem

However, I cannot make the selection you mentioned because the three items below are missing under my Network adapters.
Those are my own WiFi devices. The spec for your system shows the following components when the system was built
Media Tek
AX211
Some HP systems are custom and possibly a different WIFi card than either of the above might be installed. It is also possible, but unlikely, that the laptop was ordered with no WiFi card.
What is listed in your Device Manager for network? Are there any error indicators in the device manager?
if nothing is listed then enable Show Hidden Devices and look for the WiFi card
This web site has drivers for both Intel and Media tech. Install either the Intel or media tech
you must select windows 11

Thank you.
I unplug everything, power line, outside USB, and restarted the laptop , internet came back.
The following is what I have now.
Previously, I did not have the 1st item, Intel(R) Wi-FI.
The wi-fi always has problems before when I plugs in power line, USB.

Wifi driver is here
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp147501-148000/sp147831.exe
bluetooth driver is here
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp144501-145000/sp144643.exe
I suspect the drivers are already on your system. You should log into your modem and configure the SSID names as I explained above. Be sure to run the application that selects the channel with the least amount of noise.
You mentioned unplugging power line.
Your laptop should be plugged into a power strip that has surge and filter protection. Occasionally that protection is needed. If the laptop works when removed from the A/C adapter and does not work when plugged in then be sure to get a power strip with protection.
If it is difficult to log into the modem then try selecting the 5ghz band as a "preference" as I showed in a picture above.

Just came back to update, after a few days working, the internet lost again with plugged outside powerline, USB. 😞
I just unplugged everything from the laptop. Now internet came back.
I checked the device manger-------> network adapter---> "asix usb to gigabit ethernet family adapter" is gone , I am wondering whether that is the reason.

Update 03/19/2024
I will keep this update until the problem will not happen in half year. 🙂
The internet is working with connected outside USB after I have done this:
I installed Intel WLAN Drive again , downloaded from :
Current look of my Network adapters under Device Manger is :
I do not know what role ASIX USB to Gigabit Ethernet Family Adapter for. But it looks if this is under my Network Adapter, then my internet runs well with connected USB.
