HP Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I connected  my HP Envy 4520 wireless printer to my new Windows 10 (64 bit) laptop, my desk top (Windows 10- 32 bit)  stopped printing. What do I do so they both print wirelessly?

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

Goto search in the desktop, and look for "HP" and then click on your printer's name, then click on "re-configure wireless... "

This should do the trick.

Let me know if it worked out. 🙂

Solution suggested:

Goto search in the desktop, and look for "HP" and then click on your printer's name, then click on "re-configure wireless... "

This did not work.  When I clicked on my printer's name I was taken to the HP Printer Assistant page.  When I clicked on "Conect Printer to the Web" whch was the only appropriate choice, I was taken to the HP Back to School Sales Page.  Very frustrating!!!

What should I try next?

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:

In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Once done, follow this link, do a quick search with the product number, select the right operating system, and install the full feature driver software. 🙂

Keep me posted,

If the information I’ve provided was helpful,

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!

Good Luck. 🙂

Hi,

I'd change the printer settings as a network printer. It could be a security issue when it won't allow 2 computers to connect the same printer because it's not been set as a network printer. It could work over ethernet but wireless is a bit different connection.

I have uninstalled my printer on my desktop.  I have atempted to reinstall on the desktop , with no success.  I am getting very frustrated.

Isn't there some human person that I can call to help me?

It could be a connectivity (firewall) issue. Go to your router settings and see what IP the printer has. Then just type in your browser: http://the_printer_ip_address

and see if you can see the printer. There could be some settings how to use the printer on the network.
