Yes, I guess I must have because that is the only card that will work with one antenna wire.
This is the latest Wi-Fi driver for it if you don't already have it installed.

Thanks for the driver update links. I was actually behind on those two. It seems that HP is pretty smart about component choices made and quite a few end up being reused across a wide range of models. And that means older laptops can enjoy updates longer.

Hey Paul,
I got the WiFi card. I uninstalled the Ralink & Bluetooth drivers under Network. I then removed the old RAlink card and installed the Broadcom one. Well, immediately upon boot-up I see that WiFi is turned off (AIRPLANE MODE) and there's no way to turn it back on (toggle is disabled). I installed the driver update pack you provided. I rebooted. Still the WiFi off indicator was showing....
Then, miraculously, WiFi became enabled! I was able to see both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz WiFi networks. I attached to 5GHz then ran speedtest. Whereas before my laptop was languishing at 35Mbps download before, it's now blazing at 216Mbps! Upload speed improvement is decent too (about 3.5 times faster). That's twice as fast as on my newer Pavilion.
Thanks again, Paul! 🎯
