Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop just won't recognize the Epson Workforce 840 as a printer to add though they're on the same wireless connection.  Stymied how to get them to connect.

You will likely find better assistance for your Epson WorkForce 840 printer in Epson Support / Forum.

In GENERAL, the software may have trouble installing if Windows 10 is having trouble connecting the software during the "connection" phase of the installation.

It appears the software was release way back in 2013 - "older" by software standards.

Nonetheless, the software is preportedly supported in your Windows 10 environment.

If you wish to do so, Consider / Try

Method – Manual – Set Compatibility

Download and Save the Epson driver software to your computer

Navigate to your Downloads folder and open the folder so you can view the contents

Right-Click on the downloaded installation file > Properties > Compatibility

Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for"

Select Windows 7

Click Apply and OK to close the Properties menu

Right-Click on the program and select to Run as Administrator

After the software installs, Restart the computer and log in.

The Hoped-for result:  Installation file opens, extracts, and magically, quick-as-a-rabbit, installs the software.
