I was so frustrated with my computer not connecting to WiFi & telling me to connect an ethernet cable, that I was about to give up, and then I found your post- and it worked! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this information.

I am having this issue and am now doing a system restore. (Didn't think to look for the Realtek wifi adapter.) but my laptop was working great yesterday then suddenly it lost the wifi connectivity. After multiple attempts to try and troubleshoot it, I go to the adapters and saw wifi was disabled. I re enabled it and it fixed the problem for 10 minutes and then went missing again. Tried to locate it again by going through adapter settings to only see the available option being Ethernet and it was also disabled. Any ideas or suggestions as to why?

Hi,
I cannot thank you enough for this simple "off and on" solution.
I have had a lot of things go on in my life recently and have had to use my computer loads.
Every time I put my HP Envy in "sleep" mode it would not switch the Wifi back on when I logged back in.
Top marks and many thanks,
Valky
