Hi, the Mobile Hotspot of my system is not working after a recent Windows update. I tried the following ways, but still failed.

1. setting up the netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow, it is still showing NO (Refer below)

 Driver : Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265
Vendor : Intel Corporation
Provider : Intel
Date : 9/3/2018
Version : 19.51.15.3
INF file : oem53.inf
Type : Native Wi-Fi Driver
Radio types supported : 802.11b 802.11g 802.11n 802.11a 802.11ac
FIPS 140-2 mode supported : Yes
802.11w Management Frame Protection supported : Yes
Hosted network supported : No

2. Tried rollbacking the driver, didn't worked.

3. Tried downloading drivers from Intel (WiFi_21.40.2.Driver.zip & WiFI_21.50.1_Driver.zip) but, it said already latest drivers are installed. Hence, it didn't updated to mentioned versions.

4. Tried to disable and uninstall, then restarting, didn't worked.

5. However, after downloading Connectify it is working properly. But through Mobile hotpot it is not.

In a nut shell, while connecting the phone WiFi with the Laptop hotspot, it says, obtaining ip address and there it stops. If I enter wrong password, it replies wrong password which means it is connecting with laptop, then further it is failing somewhere.

Please try the steps mentioned below-

1. Go to the control panel.

2. Go to the network and the internet.

3. Go to network connections.

4. In related settings, go to "Change adapter options"

5. Right-click on "wireless network connection" and go to properties.

6. Click "Configure and then Advance

7. In properties, "802.11n Preamble", selected, select value "mixed mode" And click ok and click done

If the above-mentioned steps do not work try the steps below.

1-go to settings.

2-click wifi and the internet.

3-click manage wifi settings

4-click the network or the hotspot you used to connect to the internet using windows 7 or 8.

5-click forget to remove it from the wifi list.

6-click to scan wifi.

7-select the same hotspot.

8-enter hotspot security key

Change encryption type from TKIP to AES (Right-click on the network connection to mobile hotspot>Properties>Security tab. The Security type is set to WPA2-Personal.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
