HP Gaming Pavilion - 15-cx0056wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought this laptop brand new at my local walmart on thursday during the black friday event but I didn't unbox and set up this laptop until firday morning (next day). I literally only had this laptop for only 8 days and it keep randomly cuts off from my wifi, almost every 5 to 10 minutes it just disconnects. When i'm browsering the internet, watching youtube videos, and even playing a game it just disconnects out of nowhere. When it cut off from my wifi i click on the signal icon on the bottom right corner and it says "connected. no internet'" then 15 seconds later without clicking anything "connected, secured"

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter, resetting the network settings, uncheck save power on the adapter, and windows is up to date. I did install Bitdefender Total Sercurity 2019 on this laptop but I don't think it's causing the wifi to disconnect, I may be wrong but I don't know. Before I bought this laptop I have an Acer Aspire that I use almost everyday and it has Bitdefnder 2019 on it aswell and it never disconnected from my wifi. Also for a test I browsed the internet on my Acer for an hour straight today to see if it would disconnect too, and it never did...

Right now i'm very frustrated cause i really like this laptop but the wifi dissconecting is really annoying and I don't want to return this back to walmart.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue

I suggest you uninstall the Bit Defender Security and check if the issue persists

Also download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows has all the latest updates

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

Thank you and have a greatay 😊
