So I bought this new laptop from Costco a few months ago, and overall it is great. But the wifi is very slow even though I get 900+ incoming to the router, and most of my other devices show they are getting around 450 to 500. My laptop, on the other hand, gets 20 to 50 tops.

Hi:

 

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do.

 

The RTL8821CE Wi-Fi card is not a very good one and normally performs far below its maximum advertised connection speed.

 

I have two HP notebooks with the same card and have never gotten more than 120 MBPS download speeds from the card, which has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band.

 

I don't know of anyone that has.

 

You can verify what speed the RTL8821CE wifi adapter is connecting to your network (which is different than the download speed).

 

Go to the Windows control panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center.

 

Click on the Wi-Fi connection on the right side of the window, and it will show the actual speed your notebook's Wi-Fi card is connecting at.

 

If the Wi-Fi signal is excellent, you should be connecting at 433 MBPS.

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to make sure that you have the latest Wi-Fi driver installed, which I have posted at the link below.

 Thank you. I did what you said, and it is showing 433 speed with perfect connecting, but when I run a test it's showing 50 or less still. Ill try to drivers but it showing they are up to date.
