HP Notebook - 17-by0062st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade my wifi card in my HP Notebook - 17-by0062st /Product ID 4AG07UA ? If so, what are my options?

Does anyone know what happened to the service and user manuals on the support site, can't find them for this laptop. Thank you!

Hi:

According to the parts list for your notebook it comes with a RTL8821CE wifi card.

HP PartSurfer

If that is correct, that wifi card only needs one antenna to work, and any better dual band wifi card would require two antenna wires.

You would have to order the antenna kit (if available) and completely disassemble the notebook including the display panel area to properly run a second antenna wire.

Below is the link to the service manual.

There is only one better wifi card listed in the manual that is supported, and that would be the Realtek RTL8822BE, and I would not recommend upgrading to that card, because it has major problems.

HP 17 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 9461 wifi card only works in the models it came with, so it would not work in yours.
