The seller from this link describes the module 376652-001 as a  Mini PCI Wireless Bluetooth Module (Broadcom)

Apparently it installs in the mini-pci slot. I think perhaps originally 376652-001 mini-pci was used as listed in the

This (sept. 2004)  maint. & service guide doesn't list the 376651-001 (cable connector version)

376651-001 is only listed in

HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook PC
HP Compaq nx4800 Business Notebook
Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook PC
Document Part Number: 372373-002 December 2004

Possibly this was a misprint  corrected in the July 2005 version of the Guide.

The July 2005 Guilde lists both modules 376652-001 and 376651-001

You would need to ask someone more familure with the DV1000 but it appears at some point in time they produced a DV1000 that uses a  376651-001 with cable and connector. Unless of course as you said there is a hidden connector somewhere on the mb where the laptop case needs to be dismantled to access.

I can't think of a reason  why HP would hide the bluetooth pin connector and make it difficult to access. Also there doesn't appear to be any place to install a 376651-001 bluetooth module in my DV1000 unless there is a secret compartment someplace inside the case that can only be accessed by dismantling.

I found another reference to a 376652-001, described as a mini-pci bluetooth module.

https://bestbuy.partsearch.com/Part/Hewlett%20Packard/Hewlett%20Packard/376652001/New.aspx?SearchTer...

Though I haven't verified, appears there are two kinds of bluetooth modules, one using a plug and cable and  another using a mini-pci interface.

I suppose it's possible a 376651-001 can be installed in the mini-pci compartment running the cable to a connector located somewhere on the motherboard.

That is interesting.

I wasn't aware that the notebook has two mini-PCI slots.

I was under the impression that the Intel wlan card is occupying the only mini-PCI slot, hence the need for the other type bluetooth module with the cable.

My DV1000 has 1 mini-DVI slot  that can accommodate a mini-dvi bluetooth adapter which I'm assuming is p/n 376652-001 as the pics  I've looked of the 376651-001 has no mini-pci interface, only a cable and plug connector.

I'm assuming a 376652-001 with mini-pci interface looks similar or same as the pic below.

376652-001.jpg

The pic of a 376651-001 with cable and connector doesn't include a mini-pci interface uses a plug connector I assume connects somehow directly to the motherboard bypassing the mini-pci interface?

376651-001.jpg

I'm assuming there must be two different DV1000's one that accepts a 376651-001with cable and bluetooth plug and another that uses the 376652-001 mini-pci

Unless perhaps there is a method to secure  the 376651-001 with cable and plug into the mini-pci compartment and run the cable with plug to a mb plug.

However after inspecting the mini-pci compartment it doesn't appear to be so, i.e. I'm not able to find anything in my mini-pci compartment to secure a 376651-001 (that's non-mini-pci)

I suppose it's possible when the DV1000 was first being produced the only bluetooth option was the mini-dvi module 376652-001 and then sometime later HP produced a DV1000 where  a bluetooth plug was added to the motherboard to accommodate the 376651-001 module (with cable and plug.)

A motherboard with a bluetooth plug  then could have both a bluetooth and wifi module installed.

However I'm just guessing and haven't verified anything i've surmised.

Yes, the first picture looks just like the wireless card.

So unless the notebook has two of those slots, the first one definitely wouldn't work.

The other one...somewhere inside the case, there has to be a place for that module to fit.

HP Recommended

The first pic is a bluetooth mini-dvi adapter. This is the one I assume my DV1000 would use.

The second pic of 376651-001 with cable and plug is the one being sold on eBay for $11.66 with shipping. This one I assume requires a special compartment to install plus some sort of plug connection to the mb, bypassing any mini-pci.

Websites selling both the 376651-001 and 376652-001 are described as a mini-pci bluetooth adapter for the DV1000

However I believe  their descriptions are incorrect for the 376651-001  as shown in the pics it doesn't have a mini-dvi interface.

Received the 376651-001 bluetooth board. I was told by the seller that this bl board matches my DV1000 module number PT111AV.

However I'm unable to find where to install the 376651-001 bluetooth board on my DV1000. Unable to find any sort of compartment for installation. The board is very small less than 1/2" length and width and has a small plug-in connected to a very small cable.
