Hi.  I have an older model Pavilion.  The wifi card has a wireless-N 2230 card in it.  I want to upgrade to an 802.11 AC card.  Please advise as to which internal card will work.  Thanks

Specs are:

Hi:

You should be able to upgrade to this model card...

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

You should be able to find this model card on eBay.   Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure...

Hi,

Thank you for your assistance.  I was pretty sure they had to make a compatible card, due to the timing I purchased the computer and when AC came out in computers.  It appears the following link meets the specs you sent to me.  Please let me know.  Thanks

Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260HMW Mini PCI-E BT4.0 Card Intel For HP SPS 710661-001 | eBay

You're very welcome.

Yes, that one should be fine.

I got mine from China for use in a different HP notebook.  It was cheaper and I didn't care about waiting the 2 - 3 weeks it took to get to me.
