Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

I have thw described Notebook and wanted to change the wifi card for a better one.

Inside my device: BCM94313HMG2LP1  (some Broadcom chip)

I googled which card is comaptible, and i came to the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (62205ANHU), which is also shipped with some models of the ProBook 6560b itself!

After exchanging the wifi cards, i get the messege from the BIOS, that the wifimodul is not supported.

I updated the BIOS to latest version befor my exchange of course and the device worked well for weeks.

The error message says WLAN-Modul-ID (702).

It is in german of course, I just translated it for this message.

Why is the WLAN card incopatible, when the device is also shipped with the excact same card!?

Please help, i want to get better Wifi with the device, this broadcom single band 2,4GHz is utterly ***bleep***.

Sadly, no actual Wifi modules use the old miniPCI form factor, they are all M.2.

The given Centrino Advanced-N 6205 is a step up and there is no much better option for this slot, so this should be "the maximum" which is also compatible (why do vendors have blakc- or whitelists in BIOS for wifi cards anyway? this is complete ***bleep***, nonsense and a crime imho).

Please help 🙂

Aha, seems i need the model no 62205ANHMW.

Nice, what's up with that?

I mean, if HP sold the Notebook, what does it matter if years later someone puts a different wifi card in the device?

Whats next? branded and whitelisted RAM?
