HP Spectre X360 Touchpad not recognized by BIOS test

Replace the touchpad but problem remains

If replacing the touchpad on your HP Spectre x360 does not resolve the issue and it is still not recognized by the BIOS, here are a few troubleshooting steps and considerations:


Update BIOS.

  • Make sure you have the latest BIOS and drivers for your HP Spectre x360. You can download updates from the HP Support website.

Driver reinstalment:

  • Go to the Device Manager in Windows.
  • Find the touchpad entry under "Mice and other pointing devices."
  • Uninstall the touchpad driver and restart the computer. Windows will attempt to reinstall the default driver.

Perform a BIOS Reset:

  • Enter the BIOS setup and reset the BIOS to default settings. This can sometimes resolve hardware detection issues.
