I don't know exactly where to post this but I have purchased a HP dvd-rw burner for my windows 10 HP laptop and can't get it to work at all. I am an old lady and just don't know what I am doing wrong. tried calling HP and that is a joke. Can't seem to get a person to talk too. Can anyone help me.

What are you trying to do ? To burn CD/DVD or to play CD/DVD. Probably your machine does NOT have internal CD/DVD drive therefore no software to come with it. Vendor of the external drive should supply software for you to use with their product. The Cyberlink suite from HP should work but who knows.
Anyway, to play CD/DVD, please use the following free software. Please download and install to your machine
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
Same thing, the following free software is for to burn CD/DVD
