Hi, I have a HP laptop and I have been using an HP wireless keyboard and mouse for a month without any issues. Today they are blocked: I changed the batteries but they still don't work. The mouse has the red light on and the only key that makes me understand that the keyboard is on is the F with a lock on it (it turns a green light on and off if I press that key).
Has the keyboard somehow blocked itself? How can I solve the problem? Thanks for your help!

Hi @Patrizia_ch,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be a connectivity issue between your wireless keyboard and mouse and your HP laptop. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
- Check USB receiver connection: Ensure that the USB receiver for your wireless keyboard and mouse is properly plugged into a functional USB port on your laptop.
- Reconnect USB receiver: If the USB receiver is plugged in correctly, try unplugging it and plugging it back in. Sometimes, re-establishing the connection can resolve issues.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can solve connectivity issues. Try restarting your laptop and see if the keyboard and mouse start working again.
- Check for driver updates: Make sure that your laptop's drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the HP website, locating the support section, and searching for driver updates for your specific laptop model.
- Re-pair the devices: If your wireless keyboard and mouse came with a pairing button, try re-pairing them with the USB receiver. Usually, you'll need to press the pairing button on the USB receiver and then press the pairing button on the keyboard and mouse within a few seconds to establish a connection.
- Try a different USB port: If you have multiple USB ports on your laptop, try plugging the USB receiver into a different port to see if that resolves the issue.
- Check for interference: Sometimes, other wireless devices or electronic devices can cause interference with the signal between the keyboard/mouse and the USB receiver. Try moving any potential sources of interference away from your laptop and see if that helps.
- Replace batteries: Even if you've already replaced the batteries, try using a different set of batteries to ensure that the issue isn't related to battery power.
- Reset the devices: Some wireless keyboards and mice have a reset button on them. Try pressing the reset button on both the keyboard and mouse to reset them to their factory settings.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with either the USB receiver or the keyboard/mouse itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
