- Good dday to community and have question: Intel Wireless AC 7260 ( m2 ver. ) - always dropping connections, freezes. ( tried different drivers from old to new one) and it not solved situation. Intel AC 7260 NGW
- After Upgraded to AC 9260-
Intel AC 9260 NGW
, and it worked like few minutes and then stopped at all, necessary drivers were installed. Is there any other options to make abovementioned cards working, or might be upgrade to AC 8260 - solve the issue ?Thanks in advance for possible suggestion ?

Hi, Alex:
Chapter 3 of the service manual shows that only various forms of the Intel 7260 wifi adapter were offered in the model series.
HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation Maintenance and Service Guide
I would have assumed that since your notebook has an Intel 4th gen core processor that there would be no BIOS whitelisting.
However, since you installed the 9260 and it suddenly quit working, the notebook is rejecting it.
It may be that any Wi-Fi card not listed in the service manual will not work.
The G3 uses the Intel 8260, so perhaps you can try one of those or the older Intel 7265.
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 3rd Gen Intel 802.11ac, Dual Band, 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 (non-vPro) HP part # 806722-002
I still have two PCs with the 7265 AC and they both work fine still--even on W11.
Suggested part number for the 7265:
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11ac 2 × 2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter HP part # 793840-005

- Good day Paul and thanks for such suggestion, as I was bothered with this wifi Intel dual-band 7260 disconnection quite a time, and used my android as NDIS for sharing internet for laptop.
Today replaced on my HP Zbook 17`G2 - intel dual-band 8260NGW swapped from Toshiba(work laptop ) - and it works well on HP now ! Happy and glad for it is working, and thanks for guidance as well. On the other way Intel dual-band 9260NGW works well on my ultrabook Toshiba Portege z-C30.
Again thanks and might be also useful for other who are looking for solution !
