HP Spectre mouse 500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have some problems with connecting the HP wireless mouse with my ASUS zenbook. I got the mouse from my friend who recently bought a new all in one desktop of HP but didn't need the mouse. He gave it to me but I don't know how to connect it. There wasn't any dongle in the box so I guess it is a Bluetooth mouse. In the user guide, it seems it should be very easy to connect but I can't figure out how. I hope someone can help me.

@Tim90,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know how to pair the Bluetooth mouse with your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

To use your Bluetooth mouse, you must first pair (connect) it with your computer.

  1. Turn on the computer and the Bluetooth mouse.
  2. Ensure that your computer has Bluetooth turned on.
  3. Start the Bluetooth pairing wizard on your computer.

Please refer to the below video as well.

I have already followed the steps you mention. The problem is that my computer(but also another HP computer) can't find the mouse the Bluetooth way. There is also no connect button on the mouse, only an on and off switch. In the manual it is stated that the small LED should be blinking when the mouse is searching for a new device, however, it lights up for 2 seconds and turns off after 2 seconds. This light action indicates that the mouse is on, according to the manual. I hope you have some other options for me The_Fossette.

@Tim90,

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.

I recommend you replace the batteries on the mouse and check whether it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, I am sending you a private message suggesting the next course of action.
