My HP laptop won’t connect to my mobile hotspot. The only error I get is “can’t connect to this network”.

Can you see other wifi hotspots with your notebook and use a public (free) one for example ?

Hello @Stephanie_Ish

(1) Change hotspot wifi settings on iphone:

See section <If you can't connect to Personal Hotspot with Wi-Fi>

  1. Make sure that Allow Others to Join is on.
    ...
  2. If you're using an iPhone 12 model or later, turn on Maximize Compatibility.* Then try connecting your devices again to your Personal Hotspot.

Unfortunately there are no other free ones that are nearby.

Allow others to join is turned on. My iPhone is an XR, so it does not have the other option
