@zengalileo, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding a network issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP Pavilion 14 Laptop is connected to the hotspot but isn't getting proper internet access. Here are some troubleshooting steps to fix the issue:

Check Internet Access on Another Device

  • Try connecting another device (like a phone or tablet) to the same hotspot and see if it can access websites.
  • If other devices also can't access websites, the issue might be with the hotspot itself.

Restart Everything

  • Restart your laptop and the hotspot (phone/router) to refresh the connection.

Check Network Connection Status

  • On your laptop, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status and check if it says Connected, no internet or Connected, secured.
  • If there's a Limited Connectivity message, it means the laptop isn't receiving data from the hotspot.

Run Network Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters.
  • Select Internet Connections and run the troubleshooter.

Reset the Wireless Adapter

  1. Press Windows + X, then select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Network Adapters, find your Wi-Fi adapter, right-click, and choose Disable device.
  3. Wait a few seconds, then right-click again and select Enable device.
  4. Restart your laptop and check if websites load.

Flush DNS and Renew IP

  1. Open Command Prompt (Admin) by searching cmd in the Start menu and selecting Run as administrator.
  2. Type these commands one by one and press Enter after each
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
  3. Close the Command Prompt and restart your laptop.

  2. Expand Network Adapters, right-click your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver.
  3. Choose Search automatically for drivers and install any updates.

Try a Different DNS Server (Google DNS)

  1. Go to Network and Sharing Center and click on your Wi-Fi connection.
  2. Click Properties, then double-click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  3. Select Use the following DNS server addresses, and enter:
    • Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8

  4. Click OK and restart your laptop.

Reset Network Settings

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status and scroll down to Network Reset.
