How can i use sim card in my ELitebook Folio 1040 G3.

Hi. I am using Hp  Elitebook Folio 1040 G3. I want to use the card in my laptop. I have download 2 driver software from the hp official website. Those are 1. Hp Mobile Broadband Driver and  2. Hp Snapdragon x5 LTE driver. Can someone tell me how can I use the sim. Do I need to change or add any hardware?

Hi:

Your notebook needs to have the optional WWAN card that connects to the wireless network in order to use mobile broadband.

Your notebook needs to have one of these model WWAN adapters installed:

HP lt4120 Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ X5 LTE Mobile Broadband Module
HP hs3110 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband

You can check to see if one of these WWAN adapters is installed by going to the device manager.

Click to expand the Network Adapters device manager category.

That is where one of those adapters would be listed if your notebook has one.

Most likely it does not.

If you want to order and install one of those cards, you can find the list of supported WWAN cards in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual.

HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G3 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Make sure you get one that has the HP part number on it or it probably will not work.

Also, before buying one of the WWAN adapters, make sure the antennas are there to connect to the WWAN card.
