Before going on vacation, I never had issues connecting to my home wi-fi. After getting home, the wireless function of my computer is no longer showing. It's asking me to connect to the internet via an ethernet cord.

Greetings @Cwills71

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are unable to use the wireless on your computer, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

May I know the exact product number of your computer? Click here. Please do not share the serial number of your computer.

Is the wireless adapter listed in device manager?

May I know the operating system installed on your computer?

Please check if the wireless adapter is enabled in device manager (check if there are any errors)

Open network and sharing center by doing right-click on the network icon the taskbar.

On the network and sharing center screen, select the option on the left - change adapter settings.

This would display the network adapters on the computer.

Right-click on the wireless adapter and check if it is enabled and try to connect to your network.

Please uninstall the wireless adapter listed in device manager, delete the driver when prompted. Restart the computer couple times to refresh the driver.

For other troubleshooting steps, refer to this HP Article.

Run HP Support Assistant to check if all the other drivers are updated on the computer.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Chimney_83. The model of the pc is a HP Pavillion 23-bo12; its an all in one. The operating system is Windows 10 Home 64-bit. When I go to the change adapter settings, only a ethernet option is shown, no option for the wireless adapter is shown. I just dont know what happened to the wireless connection. How can it just go away?

Thanks for the reply, trying the suggested steps and providing the product number.

The drivers for your computer only available for Windows 8 and 8.1 on HP website.

As the wireless adapter is not listed in device manager.

You would need to rely on Microsoft updates via ethernet to get the drivers for your computer.

Or you can run HP Support Assistant on your computer to get the drivers for your computer. Click here for know about HPSA.

If the issue persists, request you to rollback the Operating system to Windows 8 as the drivers are not available for Windows 10.

Keep me posted.

How do I connect to my wireless network if the list of available networks is not showing?
