Hello, how do I enable or upgrade to 5ghz signal for WiFi on my laptop? I can't even connect to my home WiFi at all even thought it supports 5ghz and 2.4ghz, is there any way I can upgrade it or make it work? I seemed to find that it wasn't compatible so i assumed that's why it said unable to connect to network even though it could read the IP, name and signal strength, anyone have any ideas?

Hi:
None of the Wi-Fi adapters listed in the 255 G4 service manual (chapter 3) support the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band.

There is one model dual band Wi-Fi adapter you can upgrade to and that is this one:
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
The card has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band with an AC router and an excellent signal.
You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express.
I see some Intel 3165 cards listed on the eBay listings, so don't buy those.

On the Ali Express listings, make sure the card has the HP Part # of 915620-001.
