I have a Sim Card and don't know how to fix it on my Windows 11 EliteBook. I don't even know the version or how to check it because it's still new!  It has a SIM slot and I have the SIM card slotted in, but I don't know how to set it up.

And I'm NEW to this site, so I really hope to get a solution from a kind soul🙏

Here's the service manual for your notebook;

HP ZBook 15u G3 Mobile WorkstationHP EliteBook 850 G3 Notebook PCHP EliteBook 848 G3 Notebook PCHP E...

Chapter 3 has the supported WWAN cards with their HP part numbers.

HP lt4120 LTE/EVDO/HSPA+ SnapdragonT X5 LTE Mobile Broadband Module    HP part #800870-001

HP hs31110 HSPA + Intel Mobile Broadband Module    HP part # 822828-001

Before buying one of the two WWAN adapters to install, make sure your notebook already has the antenna wires in the space where the WWAN card goes.

See chapter 5, pages 48 & 49 for that.

This discussion shows that the antenna wires seem to be there already as shown in the screenshot.

I don't know anything about using an eSIM card either.

The fact that you are asking the question means that your notebook doesn't have the optional and expensive WWAN adapter that is needed to connect to the cellular service.  All the SIM card does is authorize you to use your cellular provider's cellular network.

All HP Elitebooks have SIM card slots.  90% of them don't come with the WWAN adapter for mobile broadband.

Thanks for the info, but how do I get the WWAN? Because my notebook doesn't have it.

You're very welcome.

What is the full model number or product number of your Elitebook?

Use this guide to find that information...there are only certain model WWAN adapters you can install that are listed in the service manual for your notebook.

Okay... System Model... HP EliteBook 840 G3

The Version is 10.0.21996.
It's a Microsoft Windows11 pro.

Someone is giving me an eSIM as a suggestion, but I don't know how that works either.
