Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z8AV)

I keep trying to connect them both using the display option in my laptop but it wont work, keeps connecting to the tv then says Failed to screen mirror.

I have contacted Microsoft support and they have tried everything from their side and they told me to contact HP because there is an issue with the driver which causes the display option not to work.

Hi @nadaaek,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To connect your HP Victus laptop to your TV using the display options, you generally have a few options, depending on the available ports on both your laptop and your TV. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Method 1: HDMI Connection

Check Ports: Ensure that both your HP Victus laptop and your TV have HDMI ports. This is the most common and straightforward method.

Get an HDMI Cable: Obtain an HDMI cable of sufficient length to connect the laptop and TV.

Connect Laptop to TV:

  • Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your laptop.
  • Plug the other end into an available HDMI port on your TV.

Switch TV Input: Use your TV remote to switch to the HDMI input that corresponds to the HDMI port you connected the laptop to. You might need to cycle through the input sources using your remote until you find the correct one.

Adjust Laptop Display Settings:

  • On your laptop, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" or "Graphics Properties."
  • Under the "Multiple displays" section, choose "Extend" or "Second screen only," depending on how you want to use the TV (as an extended display or as the only display).
  • Click "Apply" to confirm the changes.

Adjust Resolution (if needed): Sometimes, the default resolution might not be optimal for your TV. In the display settings, you can adjust the resolution to match your TV's native resolution for the best image quality.

Method 2: USB-C or DisplayPort Connection If your HP Victus laptop and TV support USB-C or DisplayPort connections, you can use these methods as well. The steps are generally similar, involving the appropriate cables and selecting the correct input source on your TV.

Method 3: Wireless Display (Miracast) If both your laptop and TV support Miracast or a similar wireless display technology, you can project your laptop's screen wirelessly to the TV without using any cables. Here's how:

  1. On your laptop, open the "Action Center" by clicking the speech bubble icon in the lower-right corner of the screen (next to the clock).
  2. Click on "Connect" to open the Connect panel.
  3. Your TV should appear in the list of available devices. Click on it to start the connection.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
