The wifi switch is disabled. Pressing it gives WLAN: Off or WLAN: Disabled. Don't know if I disabled this by pressing fn key + unknown key while trying to enter bios setup or if there is some other problem. How to enable wifi?

HI @Ykcor4,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community! I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I see from the post that you are having issues with wifi switch is disabled. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any changes on the PC before the issue started?

Is the Wi-Fi button ON?

Is the Aeroplane mode OFF/ON?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up

For more assistance, please follow the steps from this guide: HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Regards,

.

No changes. I had been using it with a cable for a few months, and when I need to use wifi I noticed the problem.

with wifi button off the message is WLAN: Off

with wifi button on the message is WLAN: Disabled

When I check the device manager it indicates the card is working ok.

Airplane mode is off

I'd already done a power reset.

The troubleshooter indicates it is disabled and can't fix it.
