I understand the error you're encountering ("104-unsupported wireless network device detected. System halted. Remove device and restart.") occurs because HP laptops like the Pavilion dv6 often have a whitelist of supported wireless cards in their BIOS. If the installed card isn't on this whitelist, the system blocks it at startup.
Here’s how you can address this issue:
Options to Fix the Problem:
1. Reinstall the Original Card
- If possible, reinstall the original 112BNHMW card or another card known to be supported by your laptop's BIOS.
2. Use a USB WiFi Adapter
- A simpler solution is to use an external USB WiFi adapter, which bypasses the internal card and avoids BIOS limitations.
3. Modify the BIOS (Advanced)
- Some users choose to modify their laptop's BIOS to remove the whitelist. This is risky and can brick your device if done incorrectly, so proceed with caution.
- Search online for a custom BIOS for your HP Pavilion dv6. Look for forums like BIOS-Mods where experienced users may offer guidance. Ensure the BIOS matches your laptop’s exact model.
- Flash the modified BIOS, which should allow unsupported cards like the AC 7265D2W to function.
4. Check for Supported Cards
