New hp victus connected to WiFi when I first started with it but now a couple of weeks later it doesn’t show any WiFi available. We have two here and both are close by and all other devices connect to it. I’ve restarted the modem and the computer but no change. Also tried to follow some online setting tutorials to no avail. Should I do a factory reset and if so , how? Or is there an idea for correcting it. Thx.

@Nellis501, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding WiFi Connectivity Issues with HP Victus!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Victus laptop is experiencing issues connecting to WiFi networks after it initially connected correctly, there are several steps you can try before considering a factory reset. Here's a guide to help you troubleshoot the problem:
Check WiFi Button or Switch:
- Ensure that the WiFi is turned on. Some laptops have a physical button or switch to enable/disable WiFi. Alternatively, check the function key combinations like Fn + F12 (the key varies based on the laptop model) that may toggle the WiFi on and off.
Network and Internet Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi and make sure WiFi is enabled.
- Click on Manage known networks and forget the network. Try reconnecting to the network to see if it appears.
Driver Update:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu.
- Expand Network adapters, right-click on your WiFi adapter, and choose Update driver.
- Check online for updates to see if there is a newer driver available.
Reset Network Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Scroll down and click on Network reset. This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and set other network components back to their default settings.
Check WiFi Configuration:
- Ensure your router's settings are compatible with your laptop's network adapter. Check if it supports dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and that both bands are enabled.
Factory Reset:
- Factory resetting is more of a last resort option. To perform a factory reset:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
- Under Reset this PC, click Get started and choose the option to Remove everything if you decide to go for a reset.
- Follow the prompts to proceed with the reset.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
