Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Actions Taken:

 

Step 1 

a.      Press Windows + R, type services.msc and press Enter.
b.      Double-click Bluetooth Support Services.
c.       Set its Startup type to Manual
d.      Click OK.

 

 

Step 2 

a.     OpenControl Panel by clicking the Windows + X,
b.    In the Control Panel search box, type Bluetooth, and then click Change Bluetooth settings.
c.     In the Bluetooth Settings dialog box, click the Options tab and select the check box for Allow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer.

 

These didn't help. Now I'm looking to get the best driver for this laptop to reinstall it.

Hi:

 

Your notebook is only supported by HP for Windows 10.

 

The parts list for your notebook indicates that it comes with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 M.2 combination WLAN adapter.

 

HP PartSurfer

 

You would need this W8.1 Bluetooth driver for that model wifi/Bluetooth adapter...

 

This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth devices.
