Hi. I got an Ethernet cord recently, I got it plugged into my router and tried to plug it into my laptop, but it was too big.

I need an Ethernet cord that can fit in this laptop. Please help.

Chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual indicates there is an ethernet adapter and ethernet port.

Ethernet Integrated 10/100/1000 network interface card (NIC)

Ports ● Audio-out (headphone)/audio-in (microphone) combo jack
● +igh-deƭnition multimedia interface (HDMI) 2.0 connector
● HP Smart AC adapter power connector
RJ-45 jack
● USB 3.0 Type-A port (3)
● USB 3.1 Type-C Gen. 2 port

The user guide shows the location of the ethernet port.   Chapter 2, page 5, item labeled as # 3.

Hi, @Yeet_McSkeet

If you are sure your notebook has an ethernet port, some model notebooks have a cover that partially blocks the ethernet port.

Usually, it drops down...

I have a HP 255 G7 business class notebook, and the ethernet port almost looks like a phone jack port rather than an ethernet port because of such a cover.

I have to gently push down on the plastic cover and it exposes the entire ethernet port.

I don't know who or why they came up with such a bright idea, but I don't like it.

It was probably done to keep inadvertent stuff from getting inside the port.

I also have another HP notebook where the USB port is partially covered the same way, yet the other one is uncovered as usual.

Hi.

I'm having trouble finding where it tells me about the Ethernet part.

I can't find anything that even says "Ethernet".

Help.
