Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Not sure if this started being a problem when I tried to set up a mesh extender. When I did that I had problems with everthing so I uninstalled it and uninstalled a "Home to Smart Home" service I signed up for since I was having problems with the mesh, they didn't seem to help and I got out of that.

My printer will not print form my computer wirelessly, I have had this problem before but always managed to get it to work.  The funny thing is I can print via my cell phone but my wife can't with her cell phone.  I have tried everything  I could think of and tried all the diagnoses hp had to offfer all the Windows 10, Microsoft, everything.  Sometime it says this or that is the problem but none are true, like it says I'm not connected to the internet but everything indicated that I am conneceted.  I'm at a lose for what to do. (I even tried changing the IP address for the printer.)

Hi @NoBears,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've been troubleshooting the issue extensively. Connectivity problems with printers can be frustrating, but let's try to troubleshoot this step by step. Here are some suggestions.

Ensure Wireless Connectivity:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer and your wife's cell phone.
  • Check if the wireless signal is stable and strong. If possible, move the printer closer to the router.

Printer Status:

  • Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or warnings. Resolve any issues indicated on the printer itself.

Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings can block communication between devices. Temporarily disable them and check if you can print. If printing works, adjust the settings to allow communication with the printer.

IP Configuration:

  • Make sure that both your printer and your computer are configured to obtain an IP address automatically. Manually setting IP addresses might cause conflicts.

Network Discovery:

  • Check if network discovery is turned on for your computer. This can usually be found in the network settings on Windows.

Printer Queue:

  • Clear the print queue on your computer. Sometimes, stuck print jobs can prevent new ones from being processed.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer, printer, and router. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for connectivity issues.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a diagnostic tool provided by HP. It can automatically resolve many common printing problems.

Network Troubleshooter:

  • Run the built-in Windows Network Troubleshooter. Right-click on the network icon in the taskbar and select "Troubleshoot problems."

Wireless Direct Printing:

  • If your printer supports it, try using the wireless direct printing feature. This allows devices to connect directly to the printer without going through the network.

Router Settings:

  • Check your router settings for any special configurations that might affect printer connectivity. Ensure that the printer is not blocked by any access control settings.

HP Smart App:

  • Consider using the HP Smart app for Windows. It can help in managing and troubleshooting printer connections.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
