If the laptop already has BlueTooth (BT) hardware inside, you don't connect anything to it, instead, you just "bind" a BT device to it. If it has BT, you will see an option to bind BT devices in settings.
If it does not have BT already, you have to buy a separate BT Dongle -- that plugs into a USB port.
