My laptop is no longer connected to WiFi as of this morning. I have called our internet carrier and we have discovered the WiFi icon is gone. So he recommended I call HP as it’s a computer issue? I have never had it connected directly to an Ethernet cable so I am not getting it????

@Kayjo1958, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart the laptop
Try restarting your laptop. Sometimes a simple reboot can help restore the WiFi icon if it’s just a temporary glitch.

Check Device Manager

Press Windows Key + X, then select Device Manager.

Look for Network adapters and see if the WiFi adapter is listed there.

If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to the adapter, that means there’s a driver issue.

Right-click on the adapter and select Update Driver or Uninstall Device (and then restart the laptop to reinstall the driver).

Enable the WiFi adapter manually

Go to Network & Internet settings.

Click on Change adapter settings on the left sidebar.

Right-click on Wi-Fi and select Enable if it’s disabled.

Network Troubleshooter

Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

Select Internet Connections and run the troubleshooter. This might help identify the issue and suggest fixes.

Check if the WiFi driver needs updating

Sometimes, after a system update or change, the driver can go out of sync. Visit HP’s support site, enter your laptop model, and check if there’s a new WiFi driver available for download.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
