Hi All,
I have recently had to install Windows 7 (64bit) onto my HP Pavillion Laptop which was built with Windows 8.1 and upgraded to Windows 10 prior to last week.
I currently have a paperweight laptop as I am unable to find any suitable drivers.
Currently I have no network connectivity (Wired or Wireless) so I cannot search for auto updates or use the HP Support Assistant.
Looking at System Information i see the following:

Am I missing something? I understand I may need to get the drivers from the hardware provider but I cannot find this information.
Happy to provide any further info.
TIA.

Hi:
Please post the hardware ID for the device you see listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.
That is the wireless adapter that needs a driver.
Use this guide to find the hardware ID for a device.
https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/
Then I will post the link to the W7 wifi driver you need.

You're very welcome.
Here is the link to the W7 x64 wifi driver you need...
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96501-97000/sp96873.exe
After you get the wifi driver installed, here are the rest of the drivers you need...
Chipset: This will install the smbus and usb controllers: Select the W7 x64 file from the list, install and restart the PC.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-8-series-chipsets/890fx
Graphics: Install the W7 x64 driver. Install and restart the PC.
Audio: Accept the agreement. Download and install the Windows 64 bit driver from the link below and restart the PC.
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver at the link below...
SD card reader: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the first file listed at the link below...
Touchpad:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp61501-62000/sp61878.exe
That should do it.
