I can only print when my surf shark VPN is disabled, initially printed fine but a week after setup it must be disabled

If your printer setup is done based on the local network, then when connected to a VPN (Virtual Private Network), the printer losses connectivity and you are unable to print.
I would suggest you use a private network with a router.
