Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z4AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, as said in the title, I would like to upgrade the WiFi chip on my laptop, current one being Realtek RTL8852AE. My initial thought was to go for an Intel chip, until I remembered that I have an AMD processor on my laptop. I was wondering if there is an Intel card that is compatible with my laptop and if not, what options do I have?

Thanks in advance.

AMD or Intel CPU's do not dictate wifi adapters. All machines of the Victus 16 series use

  • AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800H Mobile Processor (3.2 GHz, turbo up to 4.4 GHz), 3200 MHz/16 MB L3 cache, 8 core, TDP 45W
  • AMD Ryzen 5 5600H Mobile Processor (3.3 GHz, turbo up to 4.2 GHz), 3200 MHz/16 MB L3 cache, 6 core, TDP 45W

and they use

  • Realtek Wi-Fi 6 RTL8852AE + Bluetooth 5.2 part #  M34027-006
  • Realtek Wi-Fi 6 RTL8852AE-VT + Bluetooth 5.2 part #   M34029-006

You should be able to use Intel wifi 6 adapters for your machine

Regards.

Hi, @ji22b0i

My HP notebook that has an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor came from the factory with the Intel AX200 non-vPro wireless adapter having this part number:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

You should be able to find the above model Wi-Fi adapter on eBay.

Search by the HP part number, not the model of the Wi-Fi card.

If you are having issues with your notebook's Wi-Fi adapter, there is an updated driver you can try:

1.0.0.207

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.
