HP ENVY Notebook - 13-d053sa (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I power up or reset my laptop, there's around 50/50 chance of the wifi adapter being absent from the network adapters list in Device Manager. My other laptop (HP Pavillion) still works with wifi so there's no problem with the router.

HP Support Assistant shows no issues on all counts when the adapter is present.

Device Manager/NetworkAdapters/Events shows the following message:

Device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086&REV_61\4&9d09949&0&00E0 requires further installation.

Device had a problem starting, Problem 0x15, status 0x0

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer, would be to update the Intel 7265 Wi-Fi driver to the latest version found on the Intel website.

It was just updated last week.

Windows® 10 and Windows 11* Wi-Fi Drivers for Intel® Wireless Adapters

This driver will install version 19.51.49.1 for the Intel 7265 Wi-Fi adapter.

Thanks Paul -- it looks like you fixed my notebook! At least it hasn't failed to connect to the internet since I downloaded the new adapter. I'm getting sufficiently confident about it now that my connection anxiety is fading away. Thank you so much.
