Hello,

I own a HP Pavilion DV9500 Laptop with an Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965AGN.

I can connect to my internet access point only in 802.11G mode. Indead, if I activate the N mode I often get a BSOD. Apperantly, the N mode for this adaptor is not compatible with Windows 10.

Hence, I would like to know which Wifi Adaptor, compatible with my laptop, could replace the Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965AGN.

Any suggestion would be welkomed.

Hi:

 

Since your notebook has a BIOS whitelist, you cannot replace/upgrade the internal wifi card.

 

I recommend you go into the advanced settings for the network adapter in the device manager and set the wireless mode to b/g only.

 

Otherwise you will have to use a dual band USB wifi adapter.

I suspected that there was a whitelist, but the owner of such a laptop has no mean to ascertain it.
