Our organization recently purchased a large number of HP 840 G5 units to expand our field laptops. These devices are all equipped with the Intel XMM 7360 LTE-A Mobile Broadband adapter running on Verizon. The master image used for our devices is Windows 10 Enterprise v1809. Across all other HP devices also equipped with Verizon WWAN adapters none experience this particular issue except for the G5 unit with the Intel XMM 7360 LTE-A Mobile Broadband. No other unit we have in deployment uses this adapter so this is how I know my issue is unique to this adapter.
Issue:
After loading the master image onto the G5 device and providing all drivers the laptop functions without issue. All adapters report normal Internet access as reported by Windows NCSI. The device is not joined to a domain at this point.
After joining our domain the Intel XMM 7360 LTE-A Mobile Broadband adapter immediately begins reporting "No Internet Access" but is otherwise fully functional and providing Internet access regardless of what it says.
Since the Intel XMM 7360 LTE-A Mobile Broadband adapter is functioning and providing Internet access even though it says "No Internet Access" we might have been able to overlook the issue. The additional problem however is the MS Office Suite relying on Windows NCSI to report connectivity. If it says "No Internet Access" it will not allow applications like Outlook to send/receive email. This is a major issue for our organization and one that we cannot work around.
Solution Attempts:
Since we use the same master image on various models, each having it's own model of WWAN adapter, I can confirm this issue is specific to the 840 G5 as no other HP models I have in the 840 family experience this issue. I have made every virtual attempt to work with various Windows NCSI solutions and work-arounds found on the Internet and none provide a solution for this issue.
Since the issue is specific to just one model I believe the core of the issue with with the latest driver release for this WWAN adapter.

This specific WWAN adapter has seen a number of issues for both HP and Lenovo who use in in various models. An Internet search will show you many results where people are having similar issues to mine that are addressed in firmware updates, MS updates, or basic driver updates. Not all issues are addressed by this however and some continue to experience the issue as we do.
We have performed all Windows updates, we're using the lastest driver supplied by HP, and we've checked the Intel Driver & Support Assistant to ensure we're using all the lastest available updates. The issue persists but our deployment of these devices is held up until it can be resolved.
TL;DR
HP 840 G5 with the Intel XMM 7360 LTE-A Mobile Broadband works perfectly until joining a domain. Afterwards it reports "No Internet Access" but is actually connected and working. MS Office Suite programs like Outlook will not send/receive if the adapter is reporting no Internet. Since this happens on no other laptops using the same master Windows image it's my belief the issue is directly related to the driver.
