I'm looking to upgrade my mothers' wireless N card to an AC wireless card in her laptop but am unsure of which ones would be compatible. The current card part number is 792204-001 and it looks like the laptop only has one antenna wire. Are there any cards that would allow her to use 5ghz given that it only has one antenna? Thanks for any help!

Hi:

Yes, there is one card you can upgrade to where both the dual band wifi and bluetooth work with the single antenna...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

The only place I have been able to find this model is on eBay.

The card has the same throughput as the RTL8723 on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band with an AC router, it has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS.

On a dual band wireless N router, it would have a maximum throughput of 150 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz wifi band.

Below is the link to the service manual...
