Hello, I was given an HP Envy and or several years i could not access certaim SsID but not othes. I have attempted to open the Devive Manager but an administrator propmpt denies me access. Recovery is a last optiom because i have several added third-party programs. I have tried several work-arounds i have found on the internet searches. What should I do? Sign up for an expensive solution ? By the way, it recognizes the T-Mobile router, but the current Hawaiian Tel which I currently have.

Sounds like it ONLY has 2.4GHz wifi adapter. Please allow your router to broadcast DUAL bands, it will see the 2.4GHz SSID and allow you to connect.
What is it ? Quick and cheap option is to use a USB adapter such as
https://www.asus.com/au/networking-iot-servers/adapters/all-series/usb-ac53-nano/
You will see totally difference
