HP OmniBook X 14 inch Laptop AI PC 14-fe0000 (9L6E4AV)

I purchased my laptop less than a year ago, and in the past couple of months, I've been experiencing issues with connecting to the internet, whether through Wi-Fi or Ethernet. I recently visited the Best Buy Geek Squad team to diagnose and solve the issue. The problem is less prevalent now in that,  in some instances, I can connect, and sometimes, I can't. Have you encountered such issue before? And if so, what is the permanent solution? I own a very old HP Pavilion, and I've never experienced such problems before. They indicated the issue had to do with Network Driver/Adapters. Is there a way to permanentely solve this? Keep in mind when the issue manifests my tool bar indicates I'm connected through Wifi (it showed the opposite before my visit to GeekSquad) but I'm not able to view or factually connect to anything when it happens

@Razgriz939, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Experiencing internet connection issues on your HP Omnibook X can be frustrating. Here are some common steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Steps to Diagnose and Resolve Internet Connection Issues

Update Network Drivers:

  • Ensure your network drivers are up to date. You can do this via Windows Update or HP Support Assistant.
  • For Windows Update:
    • Go to Start Menu > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
  • For HP Support Assistant:
    • Go to Start Menu > All Apps > HP Help and Support > HP Support Assistant.
    • Follow the prompts to check for and install updates.

Check Network Settings:

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi is turned on and airplane mode is off.
  • Make sure you are within range of your Wi-Fi router and there are no obstructions causing signal interference.

Restart Your Devices:

  • Restart your laptop and your networking equipment (router, modem).
  • Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Try Connecting to Different Networks:

  • Test your laptop with different Wi-Fi networks. This will help determine if the issue is with your network or the laptop itself.

Run Network Troubleshooter:

  • Windows has built-in troubleshooter tools that can help diagnose and fix network issues:
    • Go to Start Menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network Troubleshooter.

Check Ethernet Cable:

  • If using an Ethernet connection, ensure the cable is securely connected and not damaged.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
