Does this wireless card contain the adaptor?

No nothing of pcs parts...

And you think this will solve this issue?

thanks for yoursupport..

HP Recommended

You're very welcome.

The wireless card I posted is a direct swap for the Intel 2230 in there now, and it will most likely resolve the issue you are having.

No other additional hardware is necessary.

Unfortunately, it seems pretty difficult to get to where the wifi card is located in your model.

I see that this part sold on Ebay are from China and under $20... are they reliable?

Amazon sells for about $10 more... don't know where they're made..

HP Recommended

Yes, they are.

Like most electronic parts, the cards are made in China.

I bought the exact same card for my notebook but I forgot where I got it from.

I think I paid $20 for it several months ago.

I may have bought it used, but in tested and working condition.  I do know I bought it on eBay.

Then only thing about getting one from China is it will take at least two weeks to be delivered (unless you live in China, I guess).

Is it okay to download the Intel drivers now, before getting the card?

Thanks for all your help with this..

I guess you think it's worth trying..

HP Recommended

Anytime.

Glad to be of assistance.

Yes, you can download and save the drivers on your notebook for now.

Yes, I think it is worth the investment to upgrade the card but the only thing I encourage you to do first before buying the card would be to carefully review the wifi card R & R procedures and make sure you (or someone else) are up to the task of taking the notebook apart to get to where the wifi card is located.

But it can be done, though difficult?  I would have a pro take care of it..

Maybe will ask them before buying a new card.

Is it okay to download the Intel driver now before replacing the card?

HP Recommended

Will ahve someone check on this..

thanks for your thoroughness Paul..

I don't see anything about the wifi card replacement specifically in chapt. 4.
