I want to upgrade the wifi of my old hp laptop HP Notebook - 15-ac082tu to either wifi 6 or wilfi 6e. It is having only a pcie slot for network card. Current one is braoadcom which is having detection problem. Can anyone suggest a compatable card with good speed and detectability. My system is having i3 4th gen processor and windows 10 64 bit OS. Thank you in advance.

Hi:
Unfortunately, that would not be possible.
The best and only card you can upgrade to is Wi-Fi 5:
Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.
The card has a maximum throughput of 433 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band with an AC router and an excellent signal.
You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express.
I see some Intel 3165 cards listed on the eBay listings, so don't buy those.

RTL8821CE - Buy RTL8821CE with free shipping on AliExpress
On the Ali Express listings, make sure the card has the HP Part # of 915620-001.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

Thank you for providing me the information. The network card Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 Wi-Fi recommended by you is available only in m.2 interface with most of the seller. I was not able to get a mini pcie interface for the same. I am now continuing my search to get a pcie interface of the model.

You're very welcome.
All 15-ac0xx notebooks have M.2 WLAN cards such as the one I posted.
Here's the parts list for your notebook.
As you can see, the Broadcom card you have is of the M.2 form factor.
792608-005 | Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and BlueTooth 4.0 M.2 combination WLAN adapter |
Your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which restricts many wifi cards from working.
For some reason the RTL8821CE model card works with the whitelist.
