FOLLOWUP: the left hinge assembly broke on the laptop into which I had installed this card. I already posed the issue on another thread related to this common issue. 

 

If I end up scrapping this laptop, can the Realtek card I had installed be used in an HP 15-g080nr?

Unfortunately, it does not appear that you can.

 

The service manual for the 15-g080nr, shows the older style half mini card (HMC) form factor cards.

The 8821CE is a M.2 form factor card, and won't fit in the slot.
